My Services
Individual therapy
Emotional problems can be difficult to cope with and resolve alone. Whether you have experienced a painful loss, are suffering from anxiety or depression, are feeling stuck in your relationships, or cannot seem to obtain your goals, the help of an experienced professional can assist you in initiating the changes that will allow you to lead a more satisfying life.
My job as your therapist is to help you tell your story and find the meaning in its threads and connections that will help you know yourself more deeply. Whether you have a specific problem or simply want to make some life changes, we’ll carefully unravel what has led you to this place in your life, so that ultimately you can find the freedom to move forward in a different way. There is a tremendous benefit to your mental health and emotional well-being in understanding how old patterns may no longer be serving you well, and learning to find new ways to live, work, and love.
Couples Counseling
Couples counseling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen and repair their emotional connection. Major life transitions, communication issues, unmet emotional needs, and relationship neglect can all produce a sense of disconnection. I help couples work through these and other issues in a way that builds trust and closeness. I use scientifically proven theories such as Emotionally Focused Therapy and Gottman Therapy that help couples work through challenges and strengthen the relationship.
Supervision
I provide supervision and consultation to therapists, counselors, and interns who work at clinical settings. We focus on professional competencies such as: analytical skills and conceptual abilities, therapeutic relationship identity, transference, self-reflection, assessment and diagnosis, and effective interventions. I also offer guidance and support as clinicians are developing and refining their unique therapeutic style. In the past, I have supervised graduate students, pre-doctorate psychology interns, and psychiatric residents. I also offer clinical supervision for trained therapists seeing consultation, peer support, and additional professional development.
Parenting Support
Parenting can be exhausting and challenging behaviors can be overwhelming. It is essential for parents to prioritize taking care of themselves. Therapy sessions focus on stress management techniques, mindfulness exercises, and self-care routines to help manage the daily parental challenges and stressors in healthy ways. I also help parents teach emotional regulation to their children. My goal is to help parents learn and implement new strategies when they are struggling with their children. During therapy, I explore helpful discipline techniques, setting boundaries, and building consistent routines to encourage new behaviors. I provide support for parents who feel burned out, sleep deprived, and exhausted.
